Each scooter and motorcycle in this section is street legal in the State of California. All these bikes meet the emission requirements of the California Air Resource Board, CARB, and are legal on road vehicles. All 150cc and 250cc scooters and motorcycles shown are also legal to ride on a CA highway or freeway.
The State of CA requires a car driver's license to ride 2 wheel vehicles with an engine displacement of less than 50cc. All 50cc scooters offered here have an actual 49.5 cubic centimeters engine displacement and only require a regular car driver license to ride. Any scooter or motorcycle with an engine displacement 50cc or greater needs a motorcycle endorsement (motorcycle license) to operate in the State of California. Scooter and motorcycle insurance is not very expensive in CA. A 50cc
scooter in the Beverly Hills area zip 90211 cost around $80
per year to insure. Larger bikes cost a little more. It is required by
law that any scooter or motorcycle purchased from this site be insured
prior to riding or registering it.
