Improvements for 2009:
The headlight and headlight casing are new, the rest of the body is the same as the previous model. The electrical system was re-designed and upgraded to 7amp, same as the one used in the 150cc models. The CDI and voltage regulators were upgraded. The headlight bulb was upgraded to higher intensity. The front disk brake was upgraded and now comes with ABS. Rims are higher quality and lighter weight. The new tail pipe is aluminum. The VIN and federal compliance plates have been moved to the outside of the body to comply with DOT regulations. The shipping crate was also upgraded to use 2.4mm metal bars and many bars were added to protect the scooter from shipping damage.
The alarm was removed as it could cause electrical problems and drain the battery. All 09 RR iScooters come with a battery charger.
This scooter should get 102MPG after the break-in period only if the break-in was properly done. For the break-in period of 300km, the scooter should not be ridden faster than 20MPH and both the engine and transmission oil should be changed at 300km. After the initial 300km, the scooter should not be ridden over 25MPH until it reaches 1000km. Please see the scooter manual for more details.
Ride impressions:
The RR50SBM is a fun little scooter to ride, great to boot around town or short commutes (less than 10 miles each way). The seat is comfortable and setup in a way that even taller people can ride comfortably. It has plenty of storage space between the under the seat compartment and the included rear trunk; there is even a bottle/cup holder compartment in the front. It accelerates quickly and smoothly, it's well balanced and easy to ride. Perfect for beginners as well as the seasoned riders. It handles well and feels very light. The brakes do a good job stopping the scooter efficiently from any speed. The ride is smooth and vibration free.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although every scooter was checked, it is important to verify the oil level and air pressure before the first ride. The correct cold pressure is embossed on the side of each tire. Tires are overfilled for shipping.
